Last weeks (?) of thesis but just saw this piece on crazy water tanks in Punjab.  Contemporary stepwells?  Maybe a bit less sustainable.  Between 2004 and 2009 Punjab went from using 145% of renewable groundwater to 170%.  You can read more about water crisis in Punjab and twin effects of aquifer depletion and water logging in Mihir Shah and Himanshu Kulkarni’s paper, Punjab Water Syndrome

थीसिस के अख्रे हफ्ते में हू तो मैं ने यह रेबलॉग किया.   आज कल के बाओलिया?  शायद सतत थोड़ी सी कमी है.   दो हज़ार चार और दो हज़ार नौ के बिछे में पुंजब ने अक्षय ज़मीन का पानी का एक सौ पैंतालीस प्रतिशत से एक सौ सत्तर फीसदी इस्तेमाल किया गया है.  पुंजब का पानी का संकट के दो प्रभाव है: जलभृत ह्रास तथा जल भराव.  उन के बारें में और पढ़ जाते हैं तो एक बधाई लेख मिहिर शाह और हिमांशु कुलकर्णी से यही है.
