How do funders know their money is being well spent?  Or spent at all?  

Monitoring Movements in Development Aid, a new book from MIT sets out to answer the question, through an STS ethnography of development infrastructures and partnerships.  The authors, Casper Bruun Jensen and Brit Ross Winthereik, examine the technical and social processes of information exchange that keep development work moving with the help of some familiar theorists and anthropologists of technology.

I liked the focus and the conceptual areas the authors explore – it would be great to find out more about the ethnographic work that went into writing it…
